Padel is exploding across the UK. So why can booking a court cost £100 an hour?

The hype is inescapable. Your boss is playing it. Andy Murray has invested in it. Stormzy is a fan. But while padel is fun, sociable and easy to pick up, it’s also increasingly viewed as expensive. Is the sport at risk of becoming an exclusive pastime in the UK, enjoyed by only a few? Or will we follow Spain, where around 17,000 courts have helped make padel part of everyday life?
